A 5 round swiss tournament played between 1st July and 26th August.
Results
For the final round, many of the players were away on holiday including the sole leader Che Adams. Only two games were played. Second placed Adam Ware battled hard against John Foxall and was 2 pawns up at one stage. In a difficult endgame, he left his rook en prise and resigned when John took it! In the other game between Chris Evans and Steve Alcock, Chris came out of the opening better with a 2 pawn advantage. He then over extended and forgot to castle his king to safety. This proved fatal against Steve's attacking style.
The trophy for first place goes to Che Adams on 4 points and the trophy for best player rated under 1650 goes to Steve Alcock with 3 points. John Foxall came second with 3.5 points.
